Australia boasts a number of wedding traditions with meaningful symbols. Some of these traditions back to the indigenous people and many of them originated from different western countries.

Today this wedding traditions are nearly forgotten and becoming a thing of the past.In different ways some of these customs have already been modified to confirm with the changing society.As a result,its original significance is no longer known.Here are some of the Australian wedding traditions with symbolism that you should know:

smoking ceremony:

Indigenous Australian believe that smoke has cleaning and healing properties,and can ward off evil spirits.Plant are burned in a fire,or smudge stick is used,and the fragrant is fanned over  the couple.
